The family room: BEFORE

The family room has been redone. I still have to hang pictures and paint the hand rail. I thought I would post pictures of the before. Keep in mind, it didn't always look this bad but I let it get to this point because I wanted to have a permanent solution instead of cleaning up only to have these come apart at the seams. I was close to giving up hope. Putting this out there in hopes that this will help someone. Here they are....



We never use the fireplace. I put the entertainment center in front of it, hoping to make more room. I really needed to do something about the red brick (ugh!) My husband did not want me to paint it. You probably can't see it, but there is a "stage" in front of the fireplace that protrudes out from the rest of the brick. (What in the world was that for?) It's in front of the rocking chair. Just not functional.





We have so many books! Well we are homeschoolers and so I am not getting rid of them, but oh brother....



Just doesn't seem to be enough room for all of our junk.
